Oklahoma City Mariachi 2

The leader of this Oklahoma City Mariachi has been a part of the Oklahoma music scene since 1978. The founder of the group is from Ft. Worth Texas. He is is a self-taught musician who performed throughout Texas with a mariachi trio until his children were old enough to learn how to play instruments.

Oklahoma City Mariachi venues

He and his wife Elizabeth were the parents of eight children, four boys and four girls. They moved from Texas to Oklahoma with their family in the summer of 1978. He began performing with his children as one of the first mariachi groups in Oklahoma. His family received the Musical Family of the Year in 1982, and has toured Missouri, Kansas, Texas , and Arkansas. This Oklahoma City Mariachi has performed in many venues including the Governor's Mansion, the Festival of the Arts, Cox Convention Center, Cowboy Western Heritage Museum. Oklahoma City Zoo and all the major universities in Oklahoma and many more, too numerous to mention.

Oklahoma City Mariachi tradition

He began with his children but since has passed down the Mariachi musical tradition to include some of his grandchildren as well.
