TIPS TO HIRE A BAND
When you hire entertainment, there are a few things that a band or an agent will need to know:
1. Location of the event.
2. Date of event.
3. Time the band will start and end the performance.
4. Type of event.
5. Type of venue.
6. Indoors or outdoors.
7. Number of guests.
Why do they need to have that information?
Because that is the only way they will be able to give you an accurate quote.
Let’s review these points:
1. LOCATION OF THE EVENT
If you don’t know where the address of the venue is, the band will not be able to give you an accurate quote because they will charge a different price if they take 1 or 3 hours to drive to your venue.
2. DATE OF THE EVENT
The band needs to know the date of the event to check their availability. Also they will charge more if your event is during a weekend instead of a week date.
3. TIME THE BAND WILL START AND END THE PERFORMANCE
The band needs to know the time they will start and end their performance in order to check their availability.
4. TYPE OF EVENT
A band will charge more if they have to perform for a concert instead of a private event.
5. TYPE OF VENUE
A band will need to know if they perform in a private home or a public venue. They will also need to know if the venue is easily accessible.
6. INDOOR OR OUTDOORS
The band will need to be protected from inclement weather if they perform outdoors. If they perform indoors, there is no issue generally.
7/ NUMBER OF GUESTS
The number of guests is important for the size of the sound system. For a small event, the band can either play acoustic or with small amps. For a big event, the band will bring a sound system or even hire a sound company if the event is over 1,000 attendees.
