Seattle Harpist 1

Hailed by the Seattle Times as “outstanding, brilliant and expressive,” this Seattle Harpist is the principal harpist with the Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra, the Bellevue Philharmonic and the Auburn Symphony. He was also Guest Principal Harpist of the Seattle Symphony for several seasons with regular performances with Seattle Opera. This Seattle Harpist participated in their production of Wagner’s Ring Cycle in 2005.

This Seattle Harpist has also played as soloist on invitation at the American Harp Society National Convention and the World Harp Congress. He has served as adjudicator and judge for the Washington State Solo competition, the Seattle Young Artist Music Festival, and the American Harp Society.

This Seattle Harpist classical background includes performances with such conductors as Seiji Ozawa, Chales Dutoit, Leonard Slatkin, Robert Spano, Gerard Schwarz, and John Rutter. His popular music experience is equally notable, as he has shared the stage with Tony Bennett, Jose Carreras, Josh Groban, Olivia Newton-John, Rita Moreno, Doc Severinsen, and James Taylor, to name a few. He has also performed as solo harpist on Cunard Line’s “Queen Elizabeth 2” for its World Cruise on six continents.

In addition, this Seattle Harpist is a sought-after recording artist, participating in more than 200 motion picture soundtracks, including “Mr. Holland’s Opus,” “Wedding Planner,” “Wedding Date,” “Wedding Crashers,” and several Disney, PBS Mystery, and Hallmark Hall of Fame productions. He received his Master of Music degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music after earning his Bachelor of Music from the University of Washington. This Seattle Harpist's teachers include Pamela Vokolek, Lynne Palmer and Alice Chalifoux.

This Seattle Harpist harp is named after the legendary harpist Carlos Salzedo and introduced in 1928, Art Deco design and geometric detailing make the Salzedo Modern distinct among Lyon & Healy harps. Natural maple finish and ornamented action plate. Red and silver stripes decorate the extended soundboard of the hand-carved column and base of this magnificent harp.

Legend has it that the designer of the Empire State Building created this Seattle Harpist beautiful harp design about one year prior to the construction of the building, incorporating the motif of the harp column into the building's classic spire.
