Daysahead

Daysahead has its “own blend of soul, funk and rock…a welcome breath of fresh air." (Jazz-not-Jazz) their music, described as "Jazz-n-Roll", combines soul music with alternative rock and jazz influences into an emoting sound that has rocked the east coast and overseas!

Formed in 2003, Daysahead was founded by a guitarist/producer/songwriter and a vocalist/lyricist/songwriter. The duo's unique approach to songwriting, arranging, and powerful performances has attracted a diverse and loyal following of fans from around the world. They perform as a Duo (guitar/vocals), 4 piece Band (vocals/guitar/bass/drums), or 4+ piece Band depending on clients’ needs.

Daysahead style

Daysahead combines jazz, soul, alternative rock, acoustic, and r&b songs in their live performance repertoire. Their catchy arrangements of well-known covers and their originals make for a well-rounded and memorable show.

Daysahead has performed in festivals and high profile events including the Intwasa Arts Festival (Zimbabwe, Africa), Capital Jazz Festival, Maya Angelou's 80th Birthday Party, Montreux Jazz Festival, Capital Jazz SuperCruise to Bermuda, New York Harborfest, DC Capital BBQ Battle Fest, Atlanta Jazz Festival, Mobile Bayfest Music Festival, National Black Arts Festival, Richmond Fine Arts Music Festival, CNN "Black in America" Film Release, BMW Product Launch Party, PriceWaterHouse Coopers' Client Appreciation Party, Atlanta BeltLine Arts Series among others. Weddings, receptions, and other private events are also their specialty.

Daysahead has shared billing along side greats like Chaka Khan, Al Jarreau, George Duke, Lalah Hathaway, Earl Klugh, Rachelle Ferrell, The Brand New Heavies, Patti Austin, Gerald Albright, Michael Franks, Al Green and Roy Ayers to name a few.

They have received continual radio play throughout the USA, Europe, and Japan. This Atlanta Jazz Band was nominated Best Duo/Group of the year by SoulTracks Readers' Choice Awards, and Best Band & Best Album of the year by RockWired Awards.

Daysahead has been featured live on BET J, TBS, CBS, Zimbabwe TV, and Bravo TV.
