Birmingham Blues Band 1
This Birmingham Blues Band is a seven piece band that offers tight arrangements and balanced harmonies. The band is currently touring to promote their new CD. They have played very successful gigs in Tuscaloosa and Birmingham, Alabama while packing the house at both locations.
Although this Birmingham Blues Band has been described as “deep fried electric blues”, the band also features two very experienced and talented female vocalists. These singers bring Etta James, Aretha Franklin, Bonnie Raitt, etc. to the stage. Also featured are the guitarist/vocalist formally with Leon Russell plus the very well traveled keyboardist. With a drummer and a 30 year veteran on bass, the band has a solid backline.
Birmingham Blues Band leader
The leader of this Birmingham Blues Band is a forty years veteran of the music business and has been featured in the Huffington Post as a harmonica player and music instructor for the Alabama Blues Project for twelve years. He has toured and recorded with blues greats Johnny Shines, Robert Jr. Lockwood, John Kilzer, The Southside Blues Band, Beanland, Kent Brunside, Caroline Shines and many others. He has also produced several artists in the studio plus he has taught harmonica all over the southern and central United States.
This Birmingham Blues Band plays both original arrangements and cover songs that are popular and easily recognized. They have been described in the Planet Weekly magazine as “a fine tuned blues show band”. All of the members are highly experienced and veterans of the music business. They strive for a high quality sound with the vocals and harmonies as priority with a classy dress code to appeal to all age audiences. They are not a “bar band”.

Their gigs are festivals and cooperate events and main stage performances. They are now in the process of booking several in state festivals in Birmingham, Huntsville, Montogmery plus the Howlin’ Wolf Blues festival in West Point, Ms. This Birmingham Blues Band is already booked to play the Bob Sykes Blues & BBQ Festival in Bessemer, AL. as well as the June Juke Days for the Magic City Blues Society.
