This Grand Rapids Big Band music style has been influenced by Glen Miller, Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, The Dorsey Brothers, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra. Their musicians come from a broad spectrum of the community – from school teachers and pharmacists to church musicians and businessmen. Entertaining through music has been a personal part of every band member’s life.

Playing for a variety of functions has kept this Grand Rapids Big Band busy for many years. They have played at receptions honoring Presidents Bush, Ford, and Reagan, and for Governor Engler’s Inaugural Ball. Company parties, wedding receptions, and country club events have also been a part of their schedule.
