Legendary
vocal coach and L.A. music scene icon Seth Riggs (whose
students include Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, and
Natalie Cole) took May under his wing after hearing
her voice on May's debut CD "You Ain't Seen Nothin'
Yet". After listening to that CD, Riggs said,
"May's voice is amazing!"
Wowing domestic and international audiences for over
ten years with her passionate performances, May has
performed for sold-out crowds at the Apollo Theatre
in New York City. She has also appeared as a featured
performer in the showrooms at the Riviera, Luxor, and
Excalibur casinos in Las Vegas. May was
brought in as the headline act at The Voice Club in
Nagoya, Japan and Blackbeard's Castle in St. Thomas,
Virgin Islands. She has also appeared on BET's nationally
broadcast program Jazz Discovery and has been the opening
act for the likes of Bo Diddley, The Rippingtons, and
SpyroGyra.
May's studio album credits include "You Ain't
Seen Nothin' Yet" (Original R&B:1994), "Setting
The Standards" (Jazz/Blues:1999), and "Hymns
To Him" (Traditional Gospel:2002). With the release
of her newest album,"Mo' May: A Celebration Of
The Motown Era" (Motown/Soul:2005), May Palmer
continues to showcase her amazing versatility and style.
In 2004, May provided memorable performances for appreciative
audiences all over the Pacific Northwest. High profile
venues for 2004 included The International Festival
at SeaTac, a 13 week engagement at the Italianissimo
Jazz Bistro, featured performances at The Vespers Show
Room, and a show-stopping
performance at The Jazz & Oysters Festival. The
ultimate shows of the year were her sold-out performances
at the world-famous Butchart Gardens in Victoria, BC,
The May Palmer Motown/Soul Christmas Show at the Tulalip
Casino, and a televised performance at Seattle Center's
New Year's Eve Celebration.
In 2005, May continues to be an in-demand singer/entertainer
