The
instrumentation of the quartet can be either vibraphone
or saxophone with a rhythm section of piano, bass,
and drums. The trio can consist of either vibraphone,
piano and bass (no drums), or a standard jazz trio
of piano, bass and drums. For special events, a larger
group (quintet) featuring all five instruments can
be used.
The repertoire of the group is based on that body
of great American songs written in the last sixty
years or so.....from Tin Pan alley to Miles Davis.....the
jazz standards . These songs are remarkably versatile,
and can function as pleasant atmosphere/dinner music,
or can get people on their feet dancing.
Whether you're seeking background music for a restaurant/bar
setting or a company party, elegant dance music for
a wedding reception, or an all-out swinging concert
program, the Gary Gibson Quartet/Trio can accomodate
your needs with flair and professionalism. <back
